The Compliance Analyst is responsible for achieving operational efficiency in the energy industry through business process improvement and compliance data analysis. The Compliance Analyst is responsible for in-depth data analysis, including root cause analysis to identify data issues and develop process improvements leading to increased efficiency, accuracy, cost savings for the business and reduce Attorney General, BBB, PSC/PUC complaints.


  • Compile, format, analyze and report compliance data.
  • Create and deliver metrics reporting highlighting brand compliance trends.
  • Assist in research to resolve a variety of compliance issues.
  • Document process breakdowns to improve customer satisfaction and reduce inbound informal/formal complaints.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to operational processes.
  • Develop external regulatory relationships by attending Regulatory meetings or training sessions.
  • Handle multiple complex projects at the same time, requiring unique coordination of resources from other departments.
  • Investigate, validate and interpret enrollment, billing, fulfillment facts, etc. in order to prepare accurate and timely responses to PSC/PUC, BBB, Utility, Attorney General, Executive, etc. complaints.
  • In-depth research and root cause analysis to allow for timely submission of identified and approved Compliance/Legal Operations Incident Reports “CLOIRs.
  • Act as a resource to internal customers; Sales, Customer Service, Associate services and Operations teams based on intimate knowledge of relevant substantive rules and policies.
  • Manage customer expectations by close consultation and gaining an understanding of customer business goals
  • Supporting additional ad hoc projects as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with analytically-driven major/coursework.
  • Ability to analyze data and pull out meaningful trends and insights.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within broadly defined practices/policies.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Access.
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status).
