Overview

The Sales Director of Outside Sales will be a critical member of the solar team, with accountability for recruiting, training and managing a sales team that can canvass and close solar sales door-to-door. The Sales Director will own the process of setting up offices, coordinating logistics, creating incentive plans, and launching sales in this market. They will also be responsible for developing sales training programs, coaching employees, and ensuring sales quality and conversion. This individual will be accountable for achieving monthly and quarterly sales and margin targets. Responsibilities

  • Develop, own, an execute a California sales expansion strategy for Crius Solar.
  • Work with Crius stakeholders to implement effective and scalable sales processes for Outside Sales.
  • Hire, train, coach, and manage new D2D canvassers and sales closers in the California market.
  • Ensure that sales resources are selling deals that meet Crius compliance and quality measures.
  • Following launch Expand the number of sales offices and resources in a profitable and effective manner.
  • Develop a comprehensive solar sales training program for the Outside Sales team.
  • Work with Crius sales operations to develop and implement effective incentive plans for sales roles.
  • Negotiating relationships with external vendors such as thirty party outsourced sales teams.
  • Work with senior management and key internal and external stakeholders to drive new sales initiatives in California, such as referral programs and dinner parties.
  • Work with Marketing, Legal, Operations, and other Crius stakeholders to launch new sales initiatives.
  • Work closely with a fun, inclusive, caring team that recognizes we all win together.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience in retail energy and solar sales organizations is a must.
  • Preferred 5-10 years of direct sales experience, including door to door canvassing.
  • Strong business and sales acumen.
  • Familiarity with the local bylaws and permitting requirements for canvassing and selling D2D in California.
  • Professional, clear, and friendly communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to forge strong business-to-business and consumer relationships.
  • High sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong sense of ambition and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
  • Thoroughness, quality focus, and attention to detail.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status)
