Crius Energy Management, a leader in the retail energy industry, is seeking a Senior. Manager of Operations to manage our growing operations team and processes. In this critical leadership role, the Senior Manager of Operations is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of the daily back-office operational activities including:  the customer acquisition life cycle, billing, transactional management, exception management, and commercial operations.  With a focus on timeliness and accuracy, the Senior Manager will manage and monitor the day to day operations to ensure an efficient, high quality operation.  This includes coordination of activities with other departments and outside vendors. You will also be responsible for managing the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures and long-range growth and development plans and programs for the team.  The Senior Manager will supervise department managers and team leaders and ensure all activities are being performed, measured and improved to reach the highest possible levels of quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 


  • Oversees several areas of revenue cycle activities which may include customer enrollment, billing, rate management and account maintenance activities by ensuring policy and procedures are appropriately being followed and are documented.
  • Supervise department managers and team leads and provide ongoing support, development and education for department personnel, including interviewing applicants & making hiring decisions; conducting initial and ongoing training; develop, track and evaluate performance; make salary recommendations; recommend candidates for advancement; coach and mentor team members and manage all levels of performance.
  • Manage the overall department budget and track monthly expenditures, including outside vendors, contractors, etc.
  • Find ways to make the operation function more productive, maximize revenues, prevent inefficiencies and contain costs by developing and implementing operational monitoring tools, controls, processes and procedures within the organization
  • Manage third-party relationships to ensure they meet agreed-upon service levels and lead the negotiations.
  • Develop and closely provide reports, analysis and recommendations to improve the back-office operations and compliance metrics.
  • Exercise strong leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal) to ensure that operational efficiency and customer service requirements are satisfied or exceeded.
  • Communicate and report progress, issues and/or risks on daily activities and projects through various channels, including escalating items to senior management. This involves presenting to management, recording and tracking issues, creating risk mitigation plans, detailing business requirements and documenting and/or communicating any other items as necessary.


  • Bachelor's Degree. MBA is a plus
  • 8 to 10 years (or more) of energy industry experience, in an operational management, process improvement, quality assurance or other similar role.
  • Retail Energy experience is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of progressive management experience of teams.
  • Experience with data analysis, billing systems, data models and database structure & design.
  • Experience with Production and Operations management, exception management and other operational work flow policy and procedures.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Participative leadership style with strong emphasis on staff development.
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets, presentation tools and analytical tools.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status)
